About Westmatic
Westmatic designs, manufactures, and installs automated large-vehicle wash systems for buses, trucks, and trains, along with water treatment and recycling equipment. Since 1974, we have served public transportation authorities and private fleets throughout North America.
Position Summary
Westmatic is looking for a hands-on, mechanically skilled Shop Technician to join our Buffalo team. This position is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting vehicle wash equipment before it is shipped to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical equipment using hand and power tools
- Read and work from mechanical and assembly drawings
- Measure, fit, and assemble components
- Perform plumbing using galvanized steel, PVC, and stainless-steel piping
- Perform basic electrical wiring and terminations
- Assist with equipment testing and quality inspections
- Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work collaboratively with other departments to meet production schedules
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Ability to read drawings and accurately take measurements
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work well as part of a team
- Manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience preferred
- Plumbing, basic electrical, forklift, or overhead crane experience is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
