Position Summary
Westmatic is looking for a hands-on and mechanically skilled Traveling Installer / Millwright to join our field team.
This position is responsible for installing, assembling, and supporting the startup of Westmatic equipment at customer sites throughout the U.S. The ideal candidate has a strong construction, millwright, or industrial installation background and is comfortable traveling and working independently in active construction environments.
Responsibilities
- Install and assemble mechanical equipment and structural components
- Read and work from mechanical drawings, layouts, and installation manuals
- Perform equipment alignment, anchoring, rigging, and mechanical fit-up
- Install piping and assist with basic electrical work as needed
- Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, contractors, and customer personnel
- Operate hand and power tools, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other job-site equipment
- Assist with equipment testing, startup, and customer training
- Troubleshoot, service, and repair existing equipment as needed
- Complete daily field documentation and progress reports
- Assist at Westmatic's Buffalo facility between field assignments as needed
- Travel throughout the U.S.; occasional international travel may be required
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction or industrial installation experience preferred
- Millwright, mechanical installation, or industrial equipment experience strongly preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills
- Ability to read drawings and accurately take measurements
- Experience with pumps, motors, piping, conveyors, or similar industrial equipment is a plus
- Electrical and plumbing experience is a plus
- Valid driver's license required
- OSHA 10/30 and forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work at heights
- Must be willing and able to travel for extended periods
Compensation & Benefits
- $24.00 - $100.00 per hour based on project requirements and experience
- Per diem while traveling
