The new Brady Mobility Center, which was procured through design-build, will accommodate the administrative functions, operations and maintenance needs for MARTA’s entire fleet of mobility vehicles (specialized vans and cutaway buses).
Westmatic worked closely with the design-build team to determine the wash system that would best serve MARTA’s current fleet configurations and any future fleet procurements.
The Westmatic Hybrid Drive-Through Bus Wash System was chosen for its programming options. The Hybrid is capable of washing in three different modes — a combination of brushes and touchless, brushes only, or touchless only.
Two units were installed in an 80’ long x 40’ wide wash bay. Drive-Through style machines were selected to accommodate the facility’s high-volume wash schedule. Westmatic was able to reduce equipment room size thanks to our compact, skid-mounted water recycling system and pumping stations.
The installation also features a chassis wash and a water recycling system with an ozone generator. Westmatic’s water reclamation system is designed to achieve the highest economical level of water recycling without chemical additives, recycling approximately 85% of used water.
The facility also utilizes a dryer system, which not only helps dry the buses and remove spotting but provides other benefits such as limiting the amount of water carry-off into the parking lot or storm sewer. It also increases the amount of recycled water by blowing the water back into the wash bay.
